Paneer Biriyani is a South Indian lunch/dinner recipe and it is so yummy, delicious and filling.LO, and I are lovers of cottage cheese/Paneer. Hubby likes it only when it is slightly higher on the spicy side. This recipe of Paneer biriyani with the measurements and ingredients has become the best in the recent days. With n number of trials, I have mastered with the base recipe and all that I do is alter the main ingredients and give different tastes. I am sure you will love this for sure.Panner Biriyani was today’s lunch menu and you can witness the speed of my cooking with my image quality itself.
Paneer Biriyani Recipe:
Ingredients:
Serves 2
- Basmati Rice-1 cup
- Onion-1 big(Sliced)
- Curd-3 tbsp
- Water-1/2 cup
- Paneer-1/2 cup(cubes)
- Chilly Powder-1/4 tsp
- Garam Masala Powder-1/2 tsp
To grind into a smooth paste:
- Green Chilly-1
- Ginger-A small piece
- Garlic-7
- Tomato -2 (Medium)
To Temper:
- Bay Leaf-1
- Cardamom-2
- Cinnamon-A stick
- Fennel -1/4 Tsp
- Poppy Seeds-1/4 tsp
- Clove-2
Procedure:
1.Measure and keep all ingredients ready.
2.Soak basmati rice for 30 minutes.
3.Grind the items under “To grind into a smooth paste” and keep it aside.
4.In a pressure cooker, add oil+ghee and heat it.
5.Now add the tempering elements and let it splutter.
6.Add the onions and fry till they turn translucent and add the masala powders and mint+coriander
7.Now add the rice after rinsing and draining the water
8..Measure the paste and add it now and saute well.
9.Mix everything well and add curd+water,salt.
10.Pressure cook for two whistles.
11.In the meantime fry the paneer cubes in a pan.
12.When the pressure gets released ,fluff with a fork and add the tossed paneer and mix well.
13.Serve with any raitha of your choice.
My observations:
The right measurement for a fluffy biriyani is a total of 1.5 cups of liquid(be it coconut milk or puree or plain water) for 1 cup rice,soaked for 30 minutes. So kindly don’t alter it.
Adjust spices according to your wish and taste.
Skip salt for babies less than one year of age.
This can be given to babies above six months
Ensure to have introduced all items before and eliminate allergies.
