GHEE FRIED POHA|SWEET FRIED POHA

How many of you crave for a simple munch on or a “karack morak” snack at times? I do at times. I control myself saying snacking is bad most of the times. But when I am out of control I prefer making some instant snacks at home and have few spoons. One such instant quick snack is this recipe. I honestly didn’t know how to name the dish. I just randomly came up with this. Please ping me if you have some suggestions. This is usually made in the vessel which had been used to melt butter in the process of making ghee. Amma does not wash the vessel with the residue. She makes fried poha and then washes it. Instant Masala Bread Uthappam-No Fermentation Required

Instant dosa/uthappam recipes are always welcome in any place especially among young mothers who run behind their families and kids 24/7.I have already posted recipes of instant ragi dosa,instant jowar dosa ,instant wheat dosa,instant wheat ragi dosa,instant multigrain dosa,instant rava dosa,instant vegetable dosa and now adding a super quick recipe of instant bread uthappam with some added masala and veggies.Last weekend we had tried making some bread at home and we had it handy.The bread didn’t turn out so great but I didn’t want to waste it.(It tasted apt but some look and finish issues).So I ended up using that loaf in this recipe. IRON RICH FOODS

Today’s post is a collection of foods rich in iron along with recipes.The Iron in food is classified into two types namely Heme and Non-Heme.Meat,poultry and fish contains heme iron and dry fruits,vegetables,fruits and grains/cereals contains non-heme iron.Heme iron absorption is generally higher than non-heme iron foods.To enable increased absorption,always combine IRON and Vitamin C rich foods. RED POHA UPMA|VEGETABLE AVAL UPMA|FLATTENED/BEATEN RICE UPMA

Red poha/flattened rice/aval/beaten rice is one of the quickest and healthiest ingredient which can be a part of your snack/breakfast/dinner. Mom and grandmother makes many varieties out of poha. Red poha halwa/red poha sweet pongal was one such recipe and now it is a 15 minute quick and healthy breakfast. This can be an excellent finger food .This will just melt in mouth as I have used thin variety. You can also use thick and white ones.
