No Bake Potato Wedges/Sticks Recipe:
A few weeks back paneer fried rice and No Bake Potato Wedges/Sticks Recipe was our weekend special. Between the two my FB group friends had asked for this recipe and hence posting it today. There are already recipes of no-bake sweet potato wedges and baked potato wedges. This is an excellent snack box option and also a great finger food for babies above 6 months of age to help in self-feeding.
No Bake Potato Wedges/Sticks Recipe:
- Potatoes-2
- Pepper-1 Tsp
- Red Chilly Powder- 1/2 Tsp
- Italian Herbs-To garnish
- Turmeric Powder-A pinch
- Oil-To drizzle
- Salt-To taste
No Bake Potato Wedges/Sticks Recipe:
1. Wash the potatoes and soak them in hot water for 10 minutes.
2. Pressure cook them for 2 whistles. (Cook till they turn al dente not mushy)
3. When the pressure is released, show them in running cold water.
4. Peel the skin and chop as wedges or sticks.
5. Mix them with salt, pepper and chilly powder.
6. Heat 1 tbsp of oil on a cast iron dosa pan.
7. Add the spiced up wedges.
8.Cook in medium flame.
9. Flip them cook for a few seconds.
10.No Bake Potato Wedges/Sticks is ready. Garnish with Italian herbs/coriander & serve.
P.S:
Don’t overcook the potatoes before chopping. Few potatoes turn super soft with the steam cook. So choose the method of cooking and number of vessels as per your potatoes nature.
Soaking helps in removing the starch and gives that crispy texture.
Cook in medium flame.
Flip them carefully.
Do not overcrowd the sticks on the tawa.
You can add a half spoon of oil at first and then drizzle remaining when you flip them.
If you want them very crispy dust some rice flour and corn flour.
Adjust spices as per your taste.
The baked version will differ from this.
This can be given to babies above six months skipping the salt.
Always have a word with your paediatrician before offering any new food to your babies.
