Eggless Buckwheat Pancake Recipe
Coming to the recipe,I found buckwheat being used as a healthy alternative in baking and I have been waiting to try my hands on. This morning I thought I should make a different version of pancakes varied from ragi pancake and whole wheat pancake which I had shared earlier.
Buckwheat is a gluten-free pseudo cereal. It is very common here and called kuttu ka atta (papparai in Tamil). Buckwheat is not a type of wheat and it is not a millet too. It is rich in protein and fibre.Buckwheat is great for gut health and diabetic friendly. It is rich in minerals too.
Unlike the usual pancake recipes, my recipes of pancakes don’t have anything unhealthy like maida/all-purpose flour, baking soda or baking powder or any rising agents or white sugar. You can offer them breakfast or dinner or even as a snack. This stays yummy and soft in snack box too.
Eggless Buckwheat Pancake Recipe
Ingredients:
- Buckwheat flour-1/2 cup
- Palm jaggery syrup-1/3 cup
- Sour buttermilk-1 tbsp
- Salt-A pinch
- Applesauce-1/4 cup
- Cinnamon powder-A pinch
- Ghee
- Oil-To grease
Eggless Buckwheat Pancake Recipe
Procedure:
The tava shouldn’t get too hot while cooking.
This is ideal for kids above one year.
For babies below one year, skip palm jaggery syrup.
The colour depends on the palm jaggery used.
