Wheat Rava Idli Recipe:
Instant Wheat Rava Idli recipe is my long time wish to try but I have been very sceptical about using fruit salt or eno for making it instant. So I gave to try to ferment it naturally and make it more attractive for kids along with some improvement in nutrition. My mom was super impressed and I am yet to reveal her the wheat rava idli recipe. Did you like the 500 th post “Baby corn fry Recipe”?
Wheat Rava Idli Recipe:
- Wheat rava-1/2 cup
- Bajra Flour/Pearl Millet Flour-1/4 cup
- Curd-1/4 cup
- Beetroot-1 finely grated
- Onions-1 finely chopped
- Salt-To taste
Fruit Salt can be added if you want to be an instant one.
Procedure:
1. Soak wheat rava in curd overnight.
2. Next day morning mix the curd and wheat rava well and add pearl millet flour, beetroot, onions and salt.
3. You can add some water to bring to idly batter consistency.
4. Grease the idly plates.
5. Scoop out the batter and pour with a ladle.
6. Steam in an idli maker for 10 minutes.
7. Yummy and colourful idlies are ready.
P.S:
I have used cookies moulds to cut the idlies in different shapes.
You can add chopped chillies to some taste.
The wheat rava I used was small and roasted. Dry roast and run in a blender if your variant is bit coarse and big.
The idlies can be given to babies above 6 months (skip the salt).
