Honey Chilli Babycorn Recipe

You would keep hearing “more and more”if you try this honey chilly baby corn recipe. The taste was so inviting and addictive and none of us could get enough of this. I have been wanting to try honey chilly potatoes based on my baked wedges and husband found this baby corn on the shelves. We ended up with honey chilly baby corn recipe. I actually wanted to make a baked version but ended up with a deep-fried version itself owing to time constraints.

 

Honey Chilli Babycorn Recipe

To make the same without deep fry follow my baked gobi fry recipe. Before I begin, I apologise for losing some of the steps by step images. You might find them missing. I shall add them when I prepare it next time.

Honey Chilli babycorn Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Baby Corn-200 gms(Chopped)
  • Salt-as per taste
  • Oil-To deep fry

For batter:

  • Wheat flour-1/4 cup
  • Rice flour-1/4 cup
  • Salt
  • Turmeric Powder-1/2 tsp
  • Red chilly powder-1/2 tbsp
  • Garam masala powder-1/2 tbsp

For Sauce:

  • GGG paste-1 tbsp
  • Onion-1/4 cup chopped
  • Capsicum-1/4 chopped
  • Red Chilly Powder-1/4 tsp
  • Tomato Sauce-1/2 tbsp
  • Corn Flour-1 tbsp diluted with 1/4 cup water
  • Honey-1 tbsp
  • Sesame Seeds-To Garnish
  • Coriander Leaves- To Garnish

1.Parboil the baby corn with some salt and turmeric.

  1. Chop them and slit them too.

  1. Make a slightly thick batter and marinate in the refrigerator for 10-15 minutes.
  2. In the meantime let us make the sauce.

  1. In a pan, add some oil and saute GGG paste.
  2. Now add chopped onions and capsicum and saute well.
  3. Add the tomato sauce and let it boil for 2 minutes with some 1/4 cup of water.

  1. In the above picture, I have added more water, so I had to let it simmer. So please add a little amount of water and simmer. Let it cool down.
  2. Now deep fry the marinated baby corn and drain excess oil.
  3. When the sauce is cooled, add honey and mix well. The sauce is ready.
  4. Just toss the fried baby corn in the sauce.
  5. Drizzle sesame seeds and garnish with some coriander leaves.
  6. Honey Chilly Baby Corn is ready.

P.S:

Adjust the spices as per your taste.

Ensure that the sauce isn’t hot when you add the honey.
