Yields about : 20 chocolate balls.
Ingredients :
- Sprouted Ragi flour – 1/2 cup.
- Cocoa powder – 1/4 cup.
- Butter – 4 tsp.
- Dates – 1/2 cup ( about 15 pieces)
- Milk – 1/4 cup.
- Grated coconut – 1 cup.
Procedure:
1.Soak dates in water for 2 hours , remove seeds and grind to fine puree.
2.Dry roast grated coconut slightly till it becomes dry and keep it aside.
3.Sift ragi flour twice and dry roast it for a minute in low flame.
4.Remove from flame and add 2 cups of water ,mix well without any lumps.
5.Keep the mixture in low flame again and stir till ragi mixture thickens to cream consistency.
6.Then add milk and stir well till thick.
7.Add dates puree ,butter and mix well , followed by cocoa powder.
8.Boil in low flame with constant stirring till the mixture forms a mass.
9.Remove from flame and let it cool to room temperature.
10.Transfer the contents to a greased plate and spread widely, refrigerate for 30 mins.
11.Remove from refrigerator , make small balls out of it , roll the balls in fried coconut ,refrigerate and enjoy.
NOTES :
Since the chocolates are not made in sugar syrup , you will not get hard chocolates. But the gooey chocolates will be very soft and they just melt in mouth.
Instead of coconut , you can roll them in nuts powder too.
Entire process should be done in low flame.
As ragi will stick to bottom so easily , keep stirring continuously.
Thank you Sharanya for your guest post 🙂

What shall I use to replace cocoa powder ?
You can skip if you don’t like the taste.
I made sprouted ragi powder just yesterday for my bub. It’s going to get used up in another way I guess
Very good recipe, well we can store it.
Tried this recipe.. followed the same measurements.. looks like cocoa powder should be little less than what is mentioned.. mine turned out little bitter than expected .
Thank you for the feedback
Followed same except adding extra organic coconut sugar for sweetness since I feel it was little low after adding dates..came out very well and my kids loved it..thanks for the healthy recipe..
